Candidates must check the following details regarding DBT-JRF BET2020 Eligibility Criteria:
- Nationality: Indian National candidates are eligible to apply.
- Qualification: Candidates hold a degree in Tech/M.Sc/M.V.Sc Biotechnology with Medical, Marine, Agriculture, Environmental, Biochemical Engineering, Bio-science, pharmaceutical, Food and Animal/Veterinary, etc., can apply. Candidates who completed Bioinformatics, Molecular, and Human Genetics and Neuroscience in M.Sc degree are also eligible to apply. The aspirant who completed 4-year B.E/B. Tech degree in Biotechnology can apply in DBT-JRF BET 2021.
- Percentage: Candidates must have secured a minimum of 60% marks and (55% for SC/ST/PH category) in the qualifying examination.
- Age limit: Candidates applying age should be the twenty-eight year of age on or date of applying.
- Relaxation: Female candidates will be given 5 years of relaxation who belong to the category of SC/ST/PH and to OBC category candidates will be given 3 Years of

Safety measures such as compulsory wearing of mask, thermal scanning, staggered entry, sensitization etc. will be implemented at the exam centre. Candidates are required to use Aarogya Setu App else make the required declaration as per the admit card.
The Admit Card issued to the candidates will be considered equivalent to E-Pass/Curfew Pass for movement to exam centres. Necessary advisory for administrative facilitation has been sent to Chief Secretaries of all States & UTs from the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoHF&W), Govt. of India with instructions for state/district/local authorities to treat the exam as an essential activity and facilitate its smooth conduct. A copy of the letter is attached here.

Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India, invites application for award of 'DBT-Junior Research Fellowship' (DBT-JRF) for pursuing research in frontier areas of Biotechnology and Life Sciences. The candidates will be selected through 'Biotechnology Eligibility Test (BET)'. Based on the performance in BET, two categories of merit list will be prepared (Category-I and Category-II). Government of India norms for reservation will be followed for selection.
