Hollywood icon Mark Wahlberg flew Down Under to be the face of Ladbrokes' new campaign.

Australians are about to see even more of Mark Wahlberg on their screens.

The Hollywood icon will be unveiled as the face of Ladbrokes’ new brand campaign, which is set to be launched on Sunday.

Wahlberg — the star of movies such as Patriots Day and Ted — flew to Australia late last year for filming after agreeing to partner with the betting company.

He completed 14 days of quarantine in Byron Bay before fronting the cameras for a campaign that spruiks messages about player protection and responsible gambling — the first of its kind in Australia.

The campaign was shot over five days in December and sees Wahlberg take on a different role to the ones that have made him famous in Tinseltown.

Playing Ladbrokes’ new Chief Entertainment Officer “Mike Iceberg”, he coins the term “Ladbroke It”, which is all about ramping up the excitement around sports betting and horse racing.

Byron Bay became a hotspot for celebrities last year as they sought a picturesque place to endure COVID-19 lockdowns. Wahlberg joined the town’s most famous resident Chris Hemsworth in soaking up some rays, while fellow Hollywood stars Isla Fisher, Sacha Baron Cohen and Zac Efron have all also spent plenty of time there of late.
